Empowered by the Spirit, Westgate is called to be a gateway of hope, building authentic community in the church and sharing that community throughout the Twin Cities.
We are a church where…
-
In other words, YOU are welcome.
No matter your religious background, where you come from, what you look like, or how confident you feel walking into a church, the community of Westgate is ready to welcome you in.
For those who are followers of Jesus, we believe our church is a place where you can grow in faith and contribute to a truly loving community. For those who have their doubts or questions regarding faith, we want to come alongside you in friendship to help you experience the love of God and His people.
“And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:44-47)
-
As much as we may hate to admit it, this is a simple truth about being human.
Westgate is not a church that expects perfection or performance. We are a church that praises God for the amazing love and forgiveness that he offers to us all through Jesus. We want to be authentic with one another in both strength and weakness so that we can deepen our relationships and build each other up in faith.
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” (Romans 3:23-24)
-
Truly!
Whether you’re being called to a new opportunity, battling a serious challenge, or working through how to live for God in your everyday life, we know that God has the power to help. As individuals and as a church, we seek to invite the power of the Holy Spirit to lead us forward because we are always better off when God is ahead of us.
“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)
Driven by three core values…
-
We are, and forever will be, a church led by the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Spirit of God reveals Himself to people who long to listen to and obey Him (Luke 4:1, 14; John 16:13).
-
We are, and forever will be, a biblically grounded church. We believe the Bible grounds us in the reality of God‘s kingdom and trains us to live righteous lives (John 1:14; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 John 1:9).
-
We are, and forever will be, a church that continuously seeks the Lord in prayer. We believe prayer is the primary mover of bringing about the kingdom of God (Luke 11:1-13; Acts 13:2).
We must know who we are in Christ.
We must go where we’re called by the Spirit.
Something for everyone
-
Building a strong foundation of faith in the next generation has been a key priority throughout the history of our congregation. It is so important.
Westgate Kids walks with families as they strive to encourage the faith of their kids. Our ministry works in three separate, but united, age groups - Nursery, Pre-k & K, and Elementary. We would love to welcome your kids to join us!
-
Westgate Youth is passionate about the unique journey of every middle school and high school student we meet. Our team of pastors and volunteer leaders are ready to get to know your student(s) and support them in navigating faith and life!
-
We know how hard it can be to move through all of life’s transitions as a young adult in today’s world. That’s why we have a ministry that supports and encourages those 18-30 years old in building friendship and faith.
It can be a scary to put yourself out there, but we’re all in this together. We hope you’ll reach out!
-
When we say that our vision is to build and share community, we mean it! It can be hard to feel seen, heard, and supported in a Sunday morning worship service, so we continuously provide opportunities for smaller groups of people to come together for friendship, accountability, and spiritual growth.
Sunday services
-
Every Sunday morning at 10:00 am we provide a chance for you to join a truly special community experience. Your time will be spent worshipping God, learning about the Bible’s teaching for our lives, praying, and making connections with others.
Come as you are! We have enough to worry about without pressuring each other to dress, speak, or behave in any particular way. We just want you to be a part of how God is working among us.
-
“Identity: Formation”
February 9 - March 23This sermon series will be centered on stories from Jesus’ life in the Book of Luke. We’ll work through the ways that God’s identity was revealed through Jesus Christ and encourage you to take further steps in forming your own identity in Christ.
-
When you arrive at our church property, you’ll find some parking spaces at the front (east side) of the building, but most is at the back (west side).
Whichever entrance you come through, we encourage you to make your way to the main level lobby before the service to grab some coffee and get to know someone new.
If you have infants or waddlers (age 0-2.5), you’ll find our nursery on the main level past the coffee corner. All other kids (2.5 - 5th grade) can be checked in downstairs in the family lobby. Students (6th-12th grade) are encouraged to stop by the high school room downstairs for “donut connect!”
It will be easy for you to find a seat in the Sanctuary, either on the main level or up in the balcony. Services start right at 10:00!

Our church is dedicated to supporting individuals and families in our church and throughout the community.
We know that there are certain seasons of life that can bring particular hurt or struggle. For this reason, we offer groups for those grieving a loss (GriefShare), widows (Sole Sisters), struggling with addiction, and many more.
This community is for you.
No matter what your story is, we would love to hear it. Authentic community may be just one step away.
